Development & Implementation of IT DRP
Every organization that is highly dependent on IT requires an effective IT Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP). Many organizations do. However, a key question that arises in most, if not all organizations, is IT DRP a subset of BCP? IT DRP and BCP are both key components of any organization’s Business Continuity and/or Risk Management program. The essential requirement is to integrate IT DRP and BCP together; so that both will eventually ensure the survivablity and recoverability of critical business functions.
GMH’s consultants will ensure that an organization’s IT DR and BC plans are integrated and coordinated. The planning process we use in our implementations are the same for both BC and DR. However, the contents and focus of both are different, and rightfully so, should remain as two distinct and separate documents; with the exception of fulfilling a common organizational objective. Organizations intending to use the SS507 or ISO24762 for implementation, or as a benchmark, can leverage on GMH’s consulting team; some of whom were the original editors for the SS507.
Development & Implementation Pandemic Flu BC Plan
Many organizations are fortunate that they can draw from the lessons learned during the SARS saga in 2003. Then, both public and private organizations were compelled to develop and implement SARS BCP or contingency plans. These plans had to be constantly updated as more information was gathered on SARS by both local and international health experts. The key challenge such organizations face is how could they adapt the SARS plans to counter the threat of pandemics and other communicable diseases. By leveraging on GMH’s experienced consultants, who have implemented pandemic flu BC plans for other organizations, organizations can be assured of developing and implementing cost-effective pandemic flu BC plans. Client organizations from the financial services, hospitality, manufacturing, essential services, logistics, public and even, healthcare sectors have benefitted significantly from our team.
What about the other – large, medium and small – organizations that do not have any plans to address communicable diseases, epidemics and pandemics? Such organizations can “fast-track” the development of their pandemic or communicable diseases BC plans and benefit from the experience and knowledge of GMH’s consulting team.

This includes project tracking and management. Our consulting team will lead the organization through the all the stages of the BC planning methodology; reporting and presentation the major findings together with our recommendations for follow up actions.
Crisis Management
Crisis Management Framework
Crisis management is an essential and important component to any organization; enabling it to assert command and control over all incidents and disaster situations. Some organizations may categorize crisis management under a corporate-wide risk management framework; while others deem it as part of the enterprise Business Continuity Management program and framework. Generally, there’s no specific structure or framework that is right or wrong. More importantly. the structure adopted and implemented by the organization must be effective, and must be integrated with other major response, BC, DR and other related plans. GMH’s consultants are very knowledgeable and experienced in helping organizations establish guidelines and the framework for crisis management; even, establish and implement them if required. With GMH’s subject matter experts’ contributions in this area, organizations can be assured that they can effectively manage and overcome incidents from start to finish in the most appropriate manner.
Crisis Command Operations Centre
The implementation of a crisis management framework usually requires the set of the crisis command operations centre and a corresponding plan. Our consultants will develop and implement this plan for our customers, if required; as well as assist them to design and set up the operations centre.
Crisis Communication
Crisis communications is one of the most important aspects that will determine the level of command and control a crisis management team can assert in any given situation. An effective crisis management plan or approach is essential to support the crisis management team and ensure the the crisis management framework implemented will work. It is imperative to manage and coordinate both internal and external crisis communications; to protect the organization against reputational loss, negative publicity, maintain customers’ and stakeholders’ confidence, etc. Internally, it will enable the organization to recover and resume critical business functions and operations in an expeditious and desirable manner. GMH’s consultants will guide customers to identify the essential requirements to ensure effective crisis communications; specifically to meet organizational BCM requirements, and ensure the BC plans are successfully implemented and effective.
